Our approach

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Most therapy is judged on how the last session felt. At MindView, your progress is tracked with the same standardized measures used in clinical research, reviewed with you every month, and the plan changes when the data says it should.

Booking takes about two minutes. It is a short form, mostly checkboxes. Opens our secure client portal.

How we practice

Four things are true of every case at MindView, no matter which clinician you see or which office you book.

  • Measured, not guessed

Standardized instruments, reviewed monthly with you. Symptom change is tracked, not estimated.

  • Structured from session one

The first three sessions have a defined purpose. You always know what is coming next.

  • Evidence-based methods

CBT-focused care, matched to what you came in for, delivered by licensed clinicians.

  • The plan changes with the data

Frequency, method, and goals are all adjustable. Therapy stays active rather than routine.

How do you know therapy is actually working?

Because we check. Once a month, every client at MindView has aPsycho-Measurement-Based Care Review. It is a full session, not a form, and it exists to answer one question: are we moving in the right direction?

Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps the work pointed at the right target.

  1. Measure

You complete standardized clinical measures, such as the PHQ-9 for depression and the GAD-7 for anxiety, before or at the start of the review.

  2. Interpret

Your therapist puts today's scores next to your earlier ones and against what has actually been happening in your life.

  3. Discuss

You go through it together. What is moving, what is not, and what that means. You see your own trend line.

  4. Adjust

The plan is updated: how often you meet, which methods are used, or what the goals are. Then the work continues.

What can change after a review

A review is only worth having if it can change something. Four things are on the table every time.

Frequency
How often you meet, up or down.
Method
The approach used, from CBT to skills work to trauma-focused work.
Focus
The goals themselves, when what matters to you shifts.
Support
Whether additional care or a referral would serve you better.

What makes this different

The difference is not warmth. Every good therapist has that. The difference is method.

  • Progress is judged by how the last session felt.

Progress is checked against standardized measures you complete every month.

  • The plan, if there is one, stays as written.

The plan is formally revisited monthly and changed when the data says it should be.

  • Goals are broad and open-ended.

Goals are concrete and tied to what you came in for, plus one personal goal that is yours alone.

  • It is unclear when or how therapy ends.

Care ends by design, with tapering and a relapse-prevention plan, and you can return any time.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Session 1: Intake

Your therapist asks what brought you in, your history, and what you want to change. You rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That number becomes the baseline everything is measured against. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Session 2: Psychosocial

A fuller picture of your life across its stages: relationships, work, health, identity, and the patterns and strengths that carry through. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Session 3: Treatment plan

You and your therapist build the plan together. Each goal is tied to what you came in for and has concrete objectives. You also set one personal goal that matters to you and is not tied to a diagnosis.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month, a structured review checks whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what the measures show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a Psycho-Measurement-Based Care Review (PMBCR). You complete standardized measures, such as the PHQ-9 and GAD-7, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

What kind of therapy will I get?

Our care is CBT-focused. Cognitive behavioral therapy works on the link between what you think, how you feel, and what you do. It is structured, practical, and among the most heavily studied approaches in mental health.

It is not the only tool. Your therapist matches the method to what you came in for, and if the monthly review shows a different approach would serve you better, the method changes. You can see every approach our clinicians practice.

How does therapy end?

It ends on purpose. When your goals are met and your symptoms have eased, you do not simply stop showing up. You and your therapist taper sessions, to every other week and then monthly, and finalize a relapse-prevention plan you keep.

Then you graduate, with an open invitation to come back if you ever need support again. A clear ending is part of good care, not the absence of it.

Questions about how we work

What is measurement-based care?

It means your progress is tracked with standardized clinical instruments rather than estimated from conversation. At MindView, every client completes measures such as the PHQ-9 and GAD-7 once a month, and reviews the trend with their therapist in a dedicated session called a Psycho-Measurement-Based Care Review. Treatment is then adjusted based on what those measures show.

What kind of therapy do you practice?

Our care is CBT-focused. Cognitive behavioral therapy works on the link between thoughts, feelings, and behavior, and it is structured, practical, and well studied. Your therapist matches the method to what you came in for, and the method can change if the monthly review shows it should.

How often will I meet with my therapist?

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation. After that, frequency is reassessed with you based on what you need. Once a month, one of those sessions is your measurement-based care review.

Do I have to answer everything you ask?

No. You can decline any question and keep any answer short. The assessment sessions are there to give your therapist a clear picture, and you decide what you are comfortable sharing and at what pace.

How does therapy end?

By design, not by drifting. When your goals are met and symptoms have eased, you and your therapist taper sessions, finalize a relapse-prevention plan, and close out. You are welcome to return at any time.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. Telehealth appointments are available at all of our locations in Queens, Buffalo, and Carmel, Indiana. The process is the same, including the monthly measurement-based care review.
