Why do people choose online therapy?
Care from wherever you are
Meet from home, your office, or anywhere private in New York or Indiana. No commute, no waiting room, no time lost in transit.
Easier to fit into real life
A session between meetings or after the kids are down is far more doable than one that costs you two hours of travel. Consistency is what makes therapy work, and telehealth removes the friction that breaks it.
A lower bar to the first step
For anxiety, social anxiety, or simply feeling unsure, starting from a familiar space is easier than walking into an unfamiliar office. Many people find video makes the first session feel less daunting.
The same therapist, the same plan
Telehealth is not a lighter version of therapy. You get the same clinician, the same structured treatment plan, and the same monthly measurement-based reviews as you would in person.
Continuity when life moves
Travel for work, a bad-weather week, or a move across town does not have to interrupt your care. As long as you are in a state where we practice, your sessions continue.
Private and secure
Sessions run on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform through our client portal. What you say in a telehealth session is protected exactly as it would be in an office.

Is it as effective?
For many concerns, research consistently finds that therapy delivered by video can beas effective as in-person care. The American Psychological Association supports telehealth as a legitimate way to deliver therapy.
What matters most is the fit with your therapist and showing up consistently. Telehealth makes the second part easier. If your therapist ever believes a different level of care would serve you better, they will tell you.
What does therapy here actually look like?
The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.
- Session 1: Intake
Your first session is an intake by video. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.
- Session 2: Psychosocial
Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.
- Session 3: Treatment plan
You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.
- Ongoing
Weekly video sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.
Therapy here is measured, not guessed
Once a month you have a Psycho-Measurement-Based Care Review (PMBCR). You complete standardized measures, such as the PHQ-9 and GAD-7, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.
Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.
Online therapy questions
Is online therapy as effective as in-person?
For many concerns, research consistently finds that therapy delivered by video can be as effective as in-person care. What matters most is the fit with your therapist and showing up consistently, both of which telehealth supports well. Your therapist will tell you honestly if they think a different level of care would serve you better.
What do I need for a telehealth session?
A private space, a stable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera. You join through a secure link in our client portal. No special software to install.
Which states can I be seen in?
We provide telehealth to clients located in New York and Indiana. You need to be physically in one of those states at the time of your session, which is a licensing requirement, not a MindView preference.
Is telehealth private?
Yes. Sessions run on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, and the same confidentiality protections apply as in an office. Find a private space where you will not be overheard, and you are set.
Does my insurance cover online therapy?
Most plans cover telehealth at the same benefit level as an in-office visit. We are in-network with most major plans and verify your specific benefits before your first session so you know the cost.
